Syrco BASÈ Arrives in Jakarta for an Exclusive Pop-Up Dining Experience
From February 16 to March 7, 2026, Chef Syrco Bakker brings his two-Michelin-starred expertise to Jakarta for an exclusive Syrco BASÈ pop-up at Altitude Grill
Winner of multiple accolades – most recently at the inaugural Prestige Gourmet Awards 2025 – Syrco BASÈ has, since its 2024 debut in Ubud, Bali, become synonymous with a deeply considered approach to dining. The restaurant’s philosophy of pairing local produce with world-class culinary technique has earned it a devoted following among discerning gastronomes.

This limited engagement in Jakarta presents a thoughtful extension of Chef Syrco’s culinary vision, guided by the same defining principles: traceability, nature and transparency. Rather than a replication of the Ubud experience, the pop-up reinterprets the concept within a new urban context.
The menu features a selection of signature Syrco BASÈ dishes that trace the chef’s culinary journey and honour his Indonesian heritage. Highlights include steak tartare seasoned with rendang spices, taro rösti with duck betutu, refined preparations of spiny lobster, and pure chocolate paired with soursop and avocado. Each dish reflects a careful balance between technique and terroir.

Complementing the cuisine is a thoughtfully curated beverage pairing that spotlights Indonesian and Balinese producers. Spirits and artisanal creations from Three Peaks, Black Rock, Nusa Caña, Yellow Sky and SABA Grappa are seamlessly woven into an elegant cocktail programme. These collaborations further underscore Syrco BASÈ’s commitment to celebrating local craftsmanship across every dimension of the dining experience.
Reflecting on the Jakarta residency, Chef Syrco shares: “Bringing Syrco BASÈ to Jakarta is an exciting moment for us. We are not simply recreating what we do in Ubud, but translating our philosophy into a new context. In an environment very different from our home in Bali, we invite guests to experience Indonesian ingredients and flavours through our approach of traceability, nature and transparency. Every dish carries layered stories of origin – from our collaborations with farmers and suppliers to our respect for the land.”
The Syrco BASÈ Jakarta pop-up runs from February 16 to March 7, 2026. Dinner is served daily from 5 pm to 10 pm, while a more intimate lunch service is available from 12 pm to 2 pm by request, offering a refined daytime expression of the menu.
